Editor's Note
The church is in a ruined state following a fire in the 1970s. The fire caused major damage to the ceiling and walls, and the ceiling has collapsed. From the historic church, the walls and the load-bearing systems of the ceiling have survived. It is claimed to have been used as a mosque for a time. The building stands beside the new Seymen Mosque, which was built in 1974–75.
