Editor's Note
The Universite Neighborhood Fountain was built in 1929. Made entirely of cut stone, this structure belongs to the iwan-type fountain group, with a water reservoir, an arch, a water trough, and a single spout. Built as a wayfarers' fountain in a rural area, it also has an iwan that served travelers as a shelter in rainy weather. Measuring 1.40 by 1.85 meters, the fountain is covered by a gabled roof. A profiled molding separating the body from the arched section runs around the interior and lends movement to the facade.
