The Maçka Köprüyanı (Sahanoy) Watchtower stands at the entrance to the village of Yazlık (Livera) and is thought to date from the Byzantine period. This tower is located on the ridge between the Meryemana Valley and the Hamsiköy Valley, near Ortaköy, where a larger garrison fortress stood.
