Editor's Note
It was built in 1854 by Kerim Pasha. The north front of the redoubt is bounded by the valley at the Dereiçi locality through which the Kars River flows. To the northeast of the barracks building there is a later-built machine-gun emplacement. The redoubt, whose entrance front faces north, consists of horseshoe-shaped earthen emplacements and, within them, a crescent-shaped barracks building. The crescent-shaped barracks building is additionally covered with a one-metre-thick layer of earth.
