The factory was built during the Russian occupation of 1878-1918 to supply the food needs of the Russian army. It consists of three separate sections: the production facility, the administrative building, and the warehouse. The production facility, situated on rocky, mountainous ground at a point commanding the Kars River, is rectangular in shape and oriented east-west.
