The Kalemkırdı Mosque was built in AH 1212 / AD 1797. The inscriptions on the portal confirm this date but give no information about the building's patron or architect. Originally located in Kayseri's Kalpaklıoğlu neighbourhood, in 2011 it was dismantled because of car-park construction; its stones were numbered and it was rebuilt in front of the open prayer ground (namazgâh) southwest of the Seyyid Burhaneddin Tomb. The mosque consists of a rectangular prayer hall and a three-bayed entrance portico (son cemaat yeri) adjoining it to the north.
