The Tomb of Emir Ali Pişrev was built in 1351 in the name of Ali Pişrev, son of Emir Ömer, during the period when the Eretnaoğulları Beylik ruled in Kayseri. The tomb was built in memory of Emir Ali, a leading statesman and commander of the period, and is referred to in its inscription as a 'meşhed,' an expression indicating that the building has the character of a martyr's tomb. Emir Ali was an important statesman and commander who lived in the Eretnaoğulları period. His epithet 'Pişrev,' which means 'leader' in Persian, also confirms that he was one of the prominent beys of the era.
