Editor's Note
The Ahmet Paşa Secondary School (Rüştiye) was built in AH 1285 (AD 1868/69) by the Grand Admiral Ahmed Paşa, a native of Kayseri. The school stood north of the present-day Officers' Club and south of Ahmet Paşa Avenue. The inscription above its entrance was composed by Fevzî, one of the poets of the period.
