Editor's Note
The Old Bedesten (covered bazaar) was an important historic structure in Kayseri, thought to have been built in the 13th century and believed to be one of the oldest commercial buildings of the Anatolian Seljuk period. Now completely vanished, this bedesten once stood between Gülük Mosque and present-day İnönü Boulevard, within the bounds of the Eski Bedesten neighborhood, in the southwestern part of today's Yavuz Business Center, and it gave its name to the neighborhood where it stood.
