Hasan Bey Çeşmesi

Editor's Note

Although the exact construction date of the Hasan Bey Fountain is unknown, the absence of an inscription means it can only be dated directly from the architectural features of the structure. Considering the decorative style of the column capitals and the relief on the pediment, the fountain is thought to have been built in the second half of the 19th century. The structure has a single-faced, single-arched arrangement. It was built adjoining the street-facing side of a house's courtyard wall in the Yukarı Mahalle of Erkilet. The fountain's arch rests on columns shaped from monolithic stone.
