Editor's Note
One of the most important palaces of the Anatolian Seljuk period, Keykubadiye Palace stands in Kayseri to the east of Lake Keykubad (Şeker), within the grounds of the Kayseri Sugar Factory. Although its construction date is not known for certain, period sources suggest it was built by Alaeddin Keykubad I in the mid-1220s. Also known as Kubadiye, the palace is praised in İbn Bibi's texts, which continue from the line "…God had created paradise to show it on earth" with words of high praise.
