Taşhan Büyük Cami

Although its exact construction date is unknown, the Taşhan Büyük Cami (Great Mosque) is said to date back to the 18th century. Carved into the rock, the mosque resembles the Küçük Cami (Small Mosque) in the same village in this respect. Unlike that mosque, however, a significant part of its eastern facade was built with a stone wall and clad in timber. As needs grew, the building was enlarged westward, again carved into the rock. The mosque is entered through a flat-lintelled door at the northern end of the eastern wall. Two wooden columns stand in the middle of the roughly square interior.
