Editor's Note
The Kasımoğulları Mosque was built in the late nineteenth century by Fettah Kasımoğulları. Laid out in two sections running north to south, the structure was fitted to the slope of the terrain, set at ground level on the north and on a raised platform on the south. On the west façade, within a rectangular panel framed by mouldings and formed by alternating courses of white and brown stone, there was a cusped-arch entrance. Through this door one passed into the porch (son cemaat mahalli) running east to west.
