Editor's Note
Although the Tekgöz Hot Spring bears no inscription, its appearance under the name of Sarde Hatun in a 1524 endowment deed shows that it existed before that date. It is also thought to have been built in the same period as the Tekgöz Bridge of 1202, six kilometres to its south, or even earlier. This suggests that the structure may have a history reaching back to the Seljuk period. The building standing today, however, has entirely lost its original form.
