The mosque located in the Aşağı Sırt Quarter of Karaağaç village, in the Çayeli district of Rize province, can be dated to 1800-1801 CE based on the inscription on the west face of the gallery pavilion, which records an endowment by Ayşe, daughter of Mustafa son of Senin, of 172 kuruş given to the master craftsman Osman, dated 1210 AH. The mosque was built on a rectangular plan on the exterior, running north-south, with a prayer hall of rough ashlar stone supporting a gallery level constructed of wood in the log (çantı) technique with throat-jointed corners.
