Location: The building stands on the coastal road in the İslampaşa Neighborhood in the town center of Rize. In the hurufat registers it is in the Emare Neighborhood, and in 18th-century records in the Hamza Bey Neighborhood. Some documents place it in the Humrik (İslampaşa) Neighborhood. History: Different views have been put forward about the construction date and patron of the mosque, one of the most important buildings in the region. The most widespread of these views is that the mosque was commissioned by İskender Paşa, governor of Trabzon, in 1570. The inscription above the entrance door is cited as evidence for this.
