History: Although the original construction date of the Gülbahar Hatun Mosque (Hacı Süleyman Mosque) is not known for certain, it is today thought to have been built in 1659-60, based on the three-line inscription on its north facade. The inscription reads: 'The owner of pious works and good deeds, the noble mosque of Süleyman, year 1070/1659-60.' A study of the mosque mentions a different inscription above the entrance door bearing the date 1324/1906, and, according to information from the local people, states that the building was shifted northward and rebuilt in 1906.
