Location: It stands in the Yukarı (Upper) Neighborhood of Şimşirli village, formerly called Komes, in the İkizdere district of Rize. History: Apart from the date 1324/1906 carved on a stone to the west of the entrance door, no inscription could be identified. Archival records note that there was a mosque built by Ömer Ağa in the village of Dobira Holco Katon (Lower Şimşirli), and that in 1741 Abdullah Halife was appointed as its imam and preacher. Over time, probably because of wear and decay, the building was rebuilt by the villagers.
