Mir Hamza Nigârî, a disciple of es-Seyyid es-Şeyh Mevlana İsmail Siraceddin Şirvani, who is buried in Amasya, came to Anatolia following in his sheikh's footsteps and settled in Amasya. A poet, mystic and thinker, Mir Hamza also produced many literary works in his field and has many devotees in both Azerbaijan and Anatolia. His tomb in Amasya, adjoining the Şirvanlı Mosque, was built of cut stone in the baroque style, covered by a single large dome and four half-domes. The entrance, a few steps above ground level, was built with a metal eave.
