Editor's Note
It was built in 1878 as a school by the Orthodox Greeks in Düz Mahalle, Ordu. Used as the Municipal Building between 1895 and 1897, the structure was given to the Greeks in 1897 and continued to be used as a school. In 1924 the school was converted into the Land Registry and Finance Office, and in 1935 it served as the Gazi and Güzelordu Primary School. Damaged in the 1939 Erzincan earthquake, the school underwent a year of repairs and then began serving as the Finance Office in 1940–1941. From 1941 to 1947 it was the Gazi Primary School, and from 1947 to 1949 it served as a private high school.
