Editor's Note
It holds the distinction of being the second-largest aqueduct built during the Roman period. The walls of the cistern, whose entrance and exit are restricted, have been found to be on the verge of collapse and overgrown with vegetation due to neglect. Surviving amid haphazard urban development, with a squatter house built over it in past years, the cistern continues to exist under the threat of neglect and unplanned construction.
