It was built by Sultan Abdülmecid in 1859. The mosque has an interior dome and was built using Khorasan mortar. Its brick minaret retains its original form as first built. Its staircase is of stone. Owing to later additions, it now stands in the middle of the complex. The interior decoration has been redone. From the writing on the gravestone of the burial in the mosque's portico, it is understood to belong to a man named Musa Efendi.
