Editor's Note
Although the exact date of the stone bridge over the Çerkeş Stream (Ulusu) is unknown, it was probably built during the reign of Sultan Süleyman the Magnificent, between 1520 and 1566. When Sultan Murad IV built the mosque bearing his own name (the Muradiye Mosque) in Çerkeş, he had this bridge repaired. The bridge has three arches built of cut stone, and because of these arches it is known as the Arched Bridge. The bridge is 3.20 meters wide and about 50 meters long. Stone parapets half a meter high run along its sides.
