It has no construction inscription. The inn is said by some researchers, without citing a source, to have been commissioned in the Hijri year 1316 (1898 CE) by the merchant Hüseyin Avni Aydemir, of Gerede, nicknamed 'Deli Molla'. Hüseyin Avni Aydemir is known to have lived between 1849 and 1939.
