Editor's Note
The Yukarı (Upper) Bath is thought to have first been built in the 15th century. Its walls are constructed of rubble stone and are plastered. On the east facade, a double-leaved door leads into the wooden dressing-room section. The ceiling rests on eight wooden columns. The central boss of the octagonal wooden ceiling is decorated with radiating fillets. From the dressing room one passes to a small barrel-vaulted space, and from there to a small domed space that also contains the washing room. On the west facade are the coal store, furnace, water tank and washing area.
