Editor's Note
A factory was set up by the Red Crescent near the village of Mamak to manufacture gas masks for use in poison-gas warfare. This factory was later transferred to the General Directorate of Military Factories in 1943. Expanded with additions made by the MKE Corporation on 18 November 1967, the factory employs 6 engineers, 50 clerical staff, and 600 technicians, workers and craftsmen. Today it operates as the 'Maksam Machinery and Mask Factory'.
