Editor's Note
From Ottoman tax and endowment registers, it is understood that there was also a lodge in Mamak known by the name 'Gül Huryûn'. Seydi Paşa had a zaviye called 'Gül Huryûn' built to serve all who came and went and to offer free meals. To cover the expenses of this lodge, he endowed properties he owned. In later years Gül Huryun came to be known as 'Gül Hazan', 'Gül Viran' and 'Gül Veren'. The record of the Gül Huryun Zaviye Foundation established by Seydi Paşa in the 1522 Ankara Endowment Register reads: 'Endowment of the Gül Huryûn zaviye in the centre of Ankara.'
