Editor's Note
Excavations of the structure began in the early 1990s, yielding valuable floor mosaic decorations. The basilica, determined to have been built in the late 5th century AD, was damaged in the Avar and Bulgar raids of the late 6th century and was destroyed after a severe fire. Conservation of the Floor Pavements of the Perinthos-Herakleia Basilica, Şehrigül Yeşil-Erdek.
