Editor's Note
The old municipal building, constructed in the early 1900s, was used as the district governor's official residence until 1937-1938. The building, a timber-and-masonry structure, was closed in 1976 and demolished by a decision taken in 1983. Its registration was lifted by the Istanbul Regional Council for the Conservation of Cultural and Natural Heritage by decision no. 480 on 20 April 1984.
