According to the 1892 yearbook written by Şevket Dağdeviren, director of the Edirne Provincial Printing House, this village, attached to the Naip sub-district of the central county of the Tekfurdağı Sanjak in Edirne Province, produced 30,000 cubic metres of wine a year. It was registered as a Cultural Property Requiring Protection (Group 1) by the Edirne Regional Directorate for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage by decision no. 2712 dated 14 October 2015. Today it serves as the Kumbağ Social Facilities of the Süleymanpaşa Municipality.
