Editor's Note
The Hüsrev Kethüda Fountain, also known as the Old Mosque Fountain, was commissioned by Hüsrev Kethüda in 1564. The fountain has a pointed arch, formed in stepped tiers. The fountain's façade is enlivened with molding around the pointed arch. The fountain's basin face is of marble. Its inscription reads: "He grants estates and fortune to all, the renowned and devout Hüsrev; the benefactor Hüsrev Kethüda, who revived the whole world from end to end; the men of heart gathered and said its chronogram: 'whoever drinks here, may his soul be refreshed.' … Year 971."
