Story
Ayasofya Tarih ve Deneyim Müzesi occupies the historic Defter-i Hakani Nezareti building in the Binbirdirek neighborhood of Fatih. Thirteen galleries spread across approximately 3,200 square meters of indoor space present Ayasofya's 1,700-year history through visual and audio narratives spanning the Byzantine and Ottoman periods. After the presentation, available in twenty-three languages, visitors can explore four sections titled church, mosque, museum, and mosque once again, featuring works from the Ayasofya collection. Windows on the building's ground floor also offer a view of a cistern dating to the Byzantine period.
