Seeing Mehmed Celebi as his greatest rival, Emir Suleyman gave his brother Isa Celebi a strong army and sent him across to Anatolia. With this army, Isa Bey came before Bursa, which was under the rule of Mehmed Celebi. The people of Bursa were content with Mehmed Celebi's rule, and to prevent Isa Celebi from seizing their city they started a fire in it. Other sources write that the fire was started by Isa Celebi's own supporters, who realized he would not manage to take Bursa.
