Editor's Note
A structure from the era of Mehmed the Conqueror, the mosque, after burning down completely, was partly repaired in 1803 by Serife Nefise Hanim and then fully restored in 1911 with the help of Fethiye Hanim of the Haci Atika family and the local people. Measuring 7.60 by 10.80 meters on the inside, the mosque is roofed with wood and local brick. Two fountains once stood side by side in front of the mosque, but these were demolished in 1976 and replaced with new ones. A monumental plane tree also stands to the east of the mosque.
