Editor's Note
Although the exact date of the mosque's construction and its patron are not known with certainty, historical sources state that it dates to the reign of Murad II (1421-1451). Court registers from 1512/1513 also note that the neighborhood where the mosque stands was already known by this name. Built on a nearly square plan, the mosque has a wooden ceiling. Its portico is divided into three sections. After the 1950s it was restored with contributions from the Bursa Society of Lovers of Antiquities and local residents. The minaret is known to be the only part surviving in its original form from the mosque's first construction.
