Editor's Note
It was built in the 15th century by Mahmud Efendi, nicknamed Koca Nâib. The mosque consists of two parts: the single-domed main prayer hall and the portico (last congregation space) on the north side. The main prayer hall has a square plan. The use of a gable wall in the portico appears for the first time in this building. Like the Bursa arch, this gable wall is an architectural element that Bursa contributed to Ottoman architecture. The mosque was restored in keeping with its original form in 2005.
