Editor's Note
Niyazi-i Mısrî was born in Malatya in 1618. To study logic and theology he went to Diyarbakır, to Mardin, and from there to Egypt. Because he studied for many years in Egypt, he was called Mısrî, meaning "the Egyptian." In 1669 he had his lodge, famous as the Mısrî Lodge, built. Mısrî became very renowned in and around Bursa. For many years he preached at the Ulu Mosque, at the Emir Sultan Mosque, and at his own lodge. (Source: Hans, Markets, Tombs and Madrasas around the Ulu Mosque - Salih Pay)
