Editor's Note
It is known to have been built as a mescit (small mosque) by Nalbantbaşı in 1429, during the reign of Sultan Murad II (1421-1451). The mescit was converted into a mosque in 1777 with the addition of a pulpit (minber). Together with its main prayer hall and porch, it has a rectangular plan. The mosque's entrance is emphasized by a gable wall, a feature often seen in Bursa's mescits. It was restored in 1957 by the Society of Lovers of Bursa's Antiquities. The mosque gave its name to the neighborhood it stands in, which is still known today as "Nalbantoğlu."
