Editor's Note
It was built in 1467 during the reign of Murad II by Hoca Tabib Hüsnü Efendi, a teacher (müderris) at the Yıldırım Hospital. Because there were mirrors arranged below the minaret balcony, it was also known as the "Mirrored Mosque" (Aynalı Mescit). According to newspaper reports from 1955, the mosque, which had not been in use for 9-10 years, was serving as a warehouse and soup kitchen for the Red Crescent. The main space, measuring 8.20 by 8.23 meters inside, is covered by a high dome. The porch is covered by an octagonal drum and dome carried by a square diamond-patterned band.
