Editor's Note
The Bursa Kalenderhane was founded in the 16th century by Bahaeddin Efendi and Abdüssamed Efendi, thought to have been sheikhs from Bukhara. Because its founders were of Bukharan origin, the building is also known as the "Bukhara Kalenderhane." This lodge, affiliated with the Naqshbandi order, was also known among the people as "Gâr-ı âşıkân" (Cave of Lovers) and the "Uzbeks' Lodge." The Kalenderhane was closed in 1925. It appears that some visitors from Bukhara, including Uzbeks, stayed in this building, which is why it came to be known by those names.
