Editor's Note
He was born in Kirkuk in 1718 and died in Bursa in 1813. He was a man of lofty character, among the leading scholars of his age. His lineage traces to Husayn on his father's side and to Hasan on his mother's side. He spent time at the Hamevi Madrasa in Urfa, in Aleppo, and in Üsküdar, served as a preacher at the Hagia Sophia Mosque, came to Bursa where he had the Eminiyye Madrasa built, and after his death was buried in the lodge section of the complex, which consisted of a mansion, a lodge-mosque, a library, and a dervish convent.
