Editor's Note
Although it is called the French cemetery, of the 32 graves here, four hold Italians, two hold Germans, and one each holds an Englishman, an Armenian, and a Swiss individual. The oldest of these dates from 1831 and the most recent from 1927. In use until the 1940s, the cemetery is today completely surrounded by houses. Some of the gravestones were removed to be used in the construction of the surrounding houses. Source: www.bursadakultur.org
