Editor's Note
The redoubt that today serves as the Caucasus Front War History Museum was built between 1734 and 1739 to guard against threats that might come from Iran. Enlarged and expanded between 1803 and 1806 during the reign of Sultan Selim III, the Kanlı Tabya (Bloody Redoubt) took its name after Russian forces killed every soldier in the redoubt during a night raid in 1828. The building, also used as a defensive structure in the War of '93, was restored and converted into an interactive museum in 2017.
