It lies 48 km southwest of Sarıkamış district and 4 km northwest of Taşlıgüney Village. It consists of a central castle and numerous rock-cut chambers. The castle is a medieval fortress built of roughly worked stone bound with mortar. The rock-cut chambers, now largely destroyed, were in part rock churches and in part dwellings. Today, partly owing to the type of rock into which they were carved, the chambers are heavily damaged, and some of them can no longer be reached. The castle and the other structures bear the typical character of a medieval settlement.
