Editor's Note

Located in the Ayvaz neighbourhood, behind the municipal waterworks, this is the remains of a building with a mosaic floor. The remains, uncovered during construction work on the waterworks, were covered over as a temporary protective measure. It is clearly visible that the wall of the spring-water facility built over part of the remains has damaged this structure and the floor mosaic, which is made in the opus tessellatum technique. Although the arrangement of the standing walls of the small surviving portion is unclear, rubble stone and brick were used in the walls, and brick and mortar masonry in the wall pier.
