Editor's Note
The Yolbaşı Mosque in central Tokat was built between 1920 and 1924. It was commissioned by Katipzâde Tahir Efendi. Square in plan and single-spaced, the mosque is covered by a dome. Its most distinctive feature is its wooden minaret, a typical example of early 19th-to-20th-century Tokat architecture. The mosque was registered as a cultural property on 14 September 1984 and was restored by the General Directorate of Foundations in 2004.
