The Ebu Şems Zaviye in Tokat is an important 13th-century Seljuk work, known throughout its history by various names such as the Ebu Şems Hânegâh and the Vizier Ahmed Paşa Mosque and Tomb. Built in AH 687 / 1288 CE, the structure dates to the reign of the Anatolian Seljuk sultan Mesud II (Gıyaseddin Mesud). Its founder appears in the sources as Ebû Şems bin el-Hüseyin or Ebu'l-Hasan bin eş-Şems; these may be different renderings of the same person's name.
