Editor's Note
The historic Government Mansion is known to have been built in 1865-1866 with the interest and support of Ziya Pasha during his term as Governor of Amasya. According to the book Amasya Tarihi (History of Amasya) by Abdizade Hüseyin Hüsamettin (Volume 1, page 319), the Government Mansion was rebuilt in 1898 by İskilipli İsmail Bey, the District Governor of Mecitözü.
