Editor's Note
It was built in 1546 by Sultan Süleyman the Magnificent. The mosque has a wooden ceiling and stone walls 90 cm thick. The ceiling was built as a coffered ceiling and recalls Seljuk architecture. It has a single minaret, built of brick in architectural style with a single balcony. According to a local legend, Süleyman the Magnificent was displeased that the mosque had not been built as large as he wished, so he had a lock put on its door, and the mosque could only be opened for worship 50 years after his death.
