Editor's Note
The dense pottery fragments and the ship-mooring stone found around the pier clearly show that this ruin belonged to a harbour. According to the ceramic remains, this harbour was used continuously from the 3rd century AD to the end of the Ottoman period, and the question is which city it belonged to. There is a city called Caesarea Germanica, known from the coins it minted and from ancient sources but never localized to this day.
